Privacy notice
This notice explains what we do with your personal data. The short version: if you join the launch list we keep your email address so we can tell you when popcorn is ready, and we do nothing else with it. If you just read the site, we keep nothing that identifies you.
Who we are
The data controller is Yer Man's Ltd, Dublin, Ireland. For any question about your data, email hello@yermanspopcorn.com and we will answer within one month.
If you only visit the site
Our hosting provider records standard server logs when a page is served, including the requesting IP address, for a short period. That is ordinary technical housekeeping used to keep the site up and defend it against abuse. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)), and we do not use those logs to build any profile of you.
If you join the launch list
We store only what is needed to honour the request and to show it was made:
- Your email address.
- The wording you agreed to and when, so we can demonstrate your consent as Article 7(1) requires.
We deliberately do not record your IP address with your signup. We could keep it as further evidence of consent, but we do not otherwise need it, and collecting less is the better default.
We use the address for one purpose: emailing you about product launches and limited drops. Our lawful basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a), given when you submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it. We never sell, rent or share your address for anyone else's marketing.
Who processes it for us
Two providers handle data on our behalf, under contract and on our instructions only:
- Vercel hosts the site and runs the form that receives your address.
- Supabase stores the list, in an EU region.
Where any processing happens outside the European Economic Area, it is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your address until you ask us to remove it, or until we close the launch list and no longer need it. If we have not sent you anything for two years we will delete it without you having to ask. If you unsubscribe we keep a minimal record that you did, so that a later import cannot put you back on the list by mistake.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- ask what data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- have anything inaccurate corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
To use any of these, email hello@yermanspopcorn.com. Every email we send also carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Exercising these rights is free, and we will not ask you why.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your data we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will email you about it.
